The guide
What is Sabores Terrenas?
An independent guide to eating, drinking and going out in Las Terrenas: restaurants, bars, beach clubs, cafés, clubs and the events agenda, in Spanish, French and English. It is published by THERD SRL.
Is it free? Can I book through the site?
It's free for visitors. We take no bookings or payments: you contact the venue directly by phone, WhatsApp or its booking link.
Venues and information
Where does the information come from?
From the venues themselves, their websites and public profiles, OpenStreetMap and, when enabled, Google's official API. Every detail is stored with its source and date, and important changes are checked before publishing. More in How it works.
How do you know if a place is open now?
We calculate the status in Las Terrenas time from the known hours, including one-off closures. If the hours are unknown we show “Hours to be confirmed” and the place is never shown as open.
Some information is wrong or a place has closed
Use the Report an error button on the listing: no need to leave your details. We check and correct it. If a place has closed for good, we remove its listing and suggest nearby alternatives.
Ratings and reviews
Where do the ratings come from?
We only show the Google rating obtained through its official API, with the source and date. We never invent or buy ratings or reviews. If a place has no rating, we show none. See How we rate.
What does “Sponsored” mean? Can venues pay to rank higher?
“Sponsored” marks a placement paid for by the venue. These placements are separate from the lists and never change the real order by rating, distance or price. “Our pick” is based on public criteria, with no payment.
Events
How do I submit an event?
With the Submit an event form: it's free. We check it with the organiser or venue before publishing it in all three languages.
What does “to be confirmed” mean on an event?
That the event comes from an identified source but hasn't yet been confirmed by the organiser. Check before you go.
Personal data
Why do you only ask for my WhatsApp?
Because it's the simplest way to reply to you in Las Terrenas. Everything else is optional. We never share your number with venues or advertising platforms. See the privacy policy.
How do I stop receiving messages?
Reply STOP to any of our messages or use the unsubscribe page.
Where are my favourites stored?
Only in your browser, on this device. No account needed and we never receive them. You can share your list with a link.
Businesses
How do I add or update my venue?
With the List my venue form: free, only your WhatsApp is required. We check before publishing.
How much does a featured placement cost?
The basic listing is free. Prices for placements, photos and articles are given on request depending on placement and duration: request a proposal.
What is the visibility report?
A report with your listing's real figures for the period: views and taps on Call, WhatsApp, Directions, Menu and website, plus appearances in featured slots. Bots and our own team's visits are excluded; no estimates.
