How Sabores Terrenas works

Sabores Terrenas is an independent guide to the restaurants, bars, beach clubs, cafés and nightlife of Las Terrenas, published by THERD SRL.

Where the information comes from

• The venues themselves, when they list or update their page (we check before publishing).
• Open and official sources: venues' own websites and public profiles, OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence) and, when enabled, the official Google Maps Platform API.
• Our team, on the ground or by phone.

We never copy text, reviews or photos from other websites. Descriptions are written by us. A venue's photos are only published with its permission or under a licence that allows it.

How we check

Every key detail (hours, phone, address, prices) is stored with its source and date. An automatically detected change that could affect visitors (closure, new hours, new number) is checked by a person before it goes live. Each listing shows the date of its last check. If something is wrong, the Report an error button on the listing tells us in a minute, with no need to leave your details.

“Open now”

Opening status is calculated in Las Terrenas time from the known hours, including one-off closures. If we don't know the hours, we say so: a place with unknown hours is never shown as “open”.

How we rank

• Relevance (default): match with your search, then most complete listing, then alphabetical order.
• Rating, distance, price: real order. Places without a rating, location or known price come last, never first.
• No payment changes the order of a list.

Featured spots and “Sponsored”

Some placements (home page, top of type or area pages, “Tonight”, “You may also like”) show featured places. They are always kept apart from the rankings:

• Our pick: chosen automatically using public criteria, fairly rotated;
• Sponsored: a placement paid for by the venue, always marked with this label.

Are you a business?

The basic listing is free. You can list or update your venue or request a visibility proposal. We never contact a venue that hasn't asked us to.
